Pickled Steel Finish
Our Italian-made architectural steel profiles are supplied with a pickled steel finish.
Pickling is a chemical treatment that removes surface oxides, mill scale and impurities from steel, leaving a cleaner,
more uniform surface suitable for fabrication and further finishing.
Surface Protection & Finishing
Although pickling improves the surface condition of steel, it does not provide permanent corrosion protection.
Pickled steel is not stainless steel and can develop surface rust when exposed to moisture or humidity.
For long-term durability, steel profiles should be appropriately prepared and protected with a suitable coating, such
as painting or powder coating, before installation.
Storage & Handling
To maintain the condition of the steel prior to fabrication, we recommend storing profiles indoors in a clean, dry environment,
protected from moisture and direct exposure to the elements.
Any surface contamination or oxidation should be removed as part of the preparation process before applying a protective finish.
